UPPER BARN COTTAGE is situated on the southern edge of the Snowdonia National Park in the beautiful Dyfi Forest in Powys, Mid Wales.

The property is about 1.5 miles from the village of Aberangell and 7 minutes' drive from the A470 which provides easy access to the surrounding countryside and coast. The cottage is approached along a tarmac track along the river Angel and is nestled in a tranquil setting within our 23 acres of hill pasture and woodland.

The beautiful garden is one of main features of any stay at the cottage. It extends to over an acre, around our large WILDLIFE pond ( with a small island!).  It's the perfect place to relax with a book, maybe one from our library, and provides great opportunities for photographers and artists.  It's also home to our pets, including our OWLS. With a few days notice, it is usually possible to fly the EAGLE OWL during your stay, which is free of charge and a truly wonderful experience.

Mallwyd village is close by and has a pub, shop and filling station. Machynlleth is about 10 miles to the south and Dolgellau is about 12 miles to the north.

Carole, one of the owners, speaks fluent German and is learning Welsh.
