Upper Barn Cottage is approached from the main A470 along a 2 mile single track forestry road. On arrival guests will find ample parking and turning space for one or more vehicles immediately outside the barn.
The owner lives on site and is available to assist whenever possible.
Access to Upper Barn Cottage Accommodation
- accommodation is located on the first floor of the barn and is accessed via 9 stone steps with 203mm risers and no handrail
- the entrance door is 802mm wide, with a 105mm step
- once inside all accommodation is on one level
- internal door to master bedroom is 350mm wide and internal doors to 2nd bedroom and shower room are 300mm wide
- there is no bath, but a 300mm x 300m shower, which is accessed via a 203mm step
- there is additional external access from the master bedroom via a 802mm wide door with a 203mm step. Two stone steps with 200mm risers lead out into the garden
- mobile phone reception is poor
Access to Laundry Facilities and Additional Freezer Space
- a washing machine, dryer and additional freezer facilities are a few level steps across the driveway from the parking area, through a 1306mm gate
- there is one 203mm stone step down to the laundry room
- the entrance door is 709mm wide with a 60mm step
- there is 24 hour access to the laundry room
Storage Facilities
- there are ample secure storage facilities for bicycles, canoes and other equipment guests may wish to bring with them
Garden Facilities
- guests are free to use any of the garden and terrace areas
- the garden area is steeply sloping
- ample seating is available in the garden and on the terrace
- there is a large, unfenced pond
- guests can use the small rowing boat, at their own risk (children under 16 must be supervised at all times)
